Global Learning with Technology proved to be a very challenging, but very interesting course. I learned so much about global communication and collaboration. The Flat Classroom textbook was a very useful tool as it helped in the understanding of the content that was presented. I created an RSS Feeder related to this subject in which I am able to keep current on global educational issues. From the blog, the video introduction, the classroom monitoring portal, the global project, and the collaboration plan I was able to connect with different media, people and groups as I learned about global projects and how I am able to learn using different learning styles. I will say my favorite project was the collaboration project on the Holiday Card Exchange and the ideas and suggestions that we were able to discuss as a group. We were able to use text, email, Google Hangout and cell phones to communicate and collaborate. The culminating project of creating a Global Learning and Collaboration Plan made me use information from the course and organize it into a plan that I could use in my classroom. I am excited to use the information that I learned from this course in my current position and hope to help others get excited about global communication and collaboration.
